Datsun is a Japanese car manufacturer belonging to the French-Japanese conglomerate Renault-Nissan. It was founded in 1914 under the name of Kwaishinsha Motorcar Works, at the initiative of the engineer Masujiro Hashimoto, through a holding company created by the entrepreneurs Den, Aoyama and Takeuchi, from whose initials the name of the first car produced by the company (DAT).
